David Strathairn Receives Acting Award at Sedona Fest
No God, No Master leading actor David Strathairn received the 2013 Outstanding Acting Award at the 19th Annual Sedona International Film Festival. The award was presented to Mr. Strathairn by Festival Director Patrick Schweiss during the Q&A following the March 2nd screening of the film at Sedona.
“We couldn’t be happier for David, or more proud,” stated NGNM Director Terry Green. “The award came as a total surprise and was one of the highlights of this year’s Sedona International Film Festival.” The presentation followed a screening of the film at the state-of-the-arts 750-seat Sedona Performing Arts Center on the festival’s final weekend, where 160 films were viewed over nine days. Mr. Strathairn arrived in Arizona on the afternoon of the screening and departed early on the morning of March 3rd for a commitment in New York.
Also in attendance were Director Terry Green, Director of Photography Paul Sanchez, Film Composer Nuno Malo and Ivana Grubelic, the solo pianist on the NGNM score. The SIFF is regarded as one of America’s premiere film festivals and caters specifically to filmmakers. “We were treated like kings from the minute we arrived,” said Green. “Patrick Schweisss is the architect who has made the Sedona International Film Festival a world-class event. I’ve been to many festivals and very few do it as well. We hope to return there with our next film.”
