No God, No Master Garners 15 Awards Nominations at Madrid & St. Tropez

No God, No Master has received a record nine nominations at the 2013 Madrid International Film Festival, which will take place in Spain’s capital city July 1st through July 6th. “News of the nominations came as a complete surprise,” stated the film’s director and screenwriter Terry Green. “And to receive so many at a single festival is very rare.” The nominations include Best Film, Best Director (Terry Green), Best Actor (David Strathairn), Best Supporting Actor (Edoardo Ballerini), Best Supporting Actress (Andrea Grano), Best Original Screenplay (Terry Green), Best Cinematography (Paul Sanchez), Best Soundtrack (Nuno Malo) and Best Costumes (Shon LeBlanc).

The emerging Madrid International Film Festival recognizes exceptional achievement in film, from the smallest independent filmmakers to the most popular English and foreign language films in all genres. In addition, NGNM has been honored with six nominations at the St. Tropez International Film Festival, Madrid’s newly established sister venue, to be held in Nice in the Côte d’Azur May 16th through May 18th. Among the St. Tropez nominees are Ray Wise, Edoardo Ballerini, Andrea Grano, Paul Sanchez and Nuno Malo. Both film festivals offer the glamor that often accompanies many overseas festival events, culminating in red carpet awards ceremonies at two of Europe’s premiere destinations. Director Terry Green and The Camera Producer Wade Danielson will likely attend the St. Tropez screening, as one of their stops during an upcoming locations scout in France for Strata’s next feature.

The Camera Website Launched

The new website for Strata’s next feature film The Camera has launched at thecameramovie.net. The website features current news and updates surrounding the upcoming production of our fourth motion picture, including filmmaker bios, a locations gallery and events as they happen. The Camera is a contemporary love story set in the U.S. and in various parts of France, and pays tribute to the French New Wave film movement of the 1960s. The movie’s Director Terry Green and Producer Wade Danielson will travel to France in May to conduct the locations scout, where they’ll meet with local film producers who will play key roles in the European portion of the production.

The website for The Camera is unlike any other we’ve designed in the past. It’s primary purpose is to offer the viewer a cinematic feel for the film Strata is producing, with visuals and audio that support the film’s design concept. Needless to say, we’re very excited about The Camera’s prospects and will be adding many more images and background information, including specific dates and locations, the naming of the principal cast and crew, etc., as the project develops. David Strathairn Receives Acting Award at Sedona Festival

No God, No Master leading actor David Strathairn received the 2013 Outstanding Acting Award at the 19th Annual Sedona International Film Festival. The award was presented to Mr. Strathairn by Festival Director Patrick Schweiss during the Q&A following the March 2nd screening of the film at Sedona.

“We couldn’t be happier for David, or more proud,” stated NGNM Director Terry Green. “The award came as a total surprise and was one of the highlights of this year’s Sedona International Film Festival.” The presentation followed a screening of the film at the state-of-the-arts 750-seat Sedona Performing Arts Center on the festival’s final weekend, where 160 films were viewed over nine days. Mr. Strathairn arrived in Arizona on the afternoon of the screening and departed early on the morning of March 3rd for a commitment in New York.

Also in attendance were Director Terry Green, Director of Photography Paul Sanchez, Film Composer Nuno Malo and Ivana Grubelic, the solo pianist on the NGNM score. The SIFF is regarded as one of America’s premiere film festivals and caters specifically to filmmakers. “We were treated like kings from the minute we arrived,” said Green. “Patrick Schweisss is the architect who has made the Sedona International Film Festival a world-class event. I’ve been to many festivals and very few do it as well. We hope to return there with our next film.”
